For many, was a great summer. As we posted here a few months ago, there were a few limited events to attend.
Summer 2020 – Where to go?
First up was the Iron Indian’s annual Reunion. A lil’ less than 50 bikes rolled into Russelville, Arkansas in the middle of the COVID pandemic for a great time. Riding in this area is phenomenal.
Second up was the annual IRIP event in the Branson, Missouri area with about 50 + Bikes. Spoke with a few that were there and had a great time! I know Hurricane Laura brought some moisture that direction on the last day or so, but no doubt worth it for those that attended
We forecasted that ‘bike week’ up in MN would be a bust and sadly, we were correct. A handful showed up for an event that was originally claiming it was shooting for 1,000. That makes 3 years in a row a bust. What is it they say in Baseball?
One event we failed to mention simply because it’s remained low key was the 4th Annual Pow Wow out in Maggie Valley NC. It’s a haul for those of us in Texas, yet one of the main promoters of it is…. from Texas. The third week in June they had approximately 50 bikes roll in for an extended weekend of great weather and great riding. This is definitely one to sneak on the calendar for 2021
This weekend was to be Bikes Blues BBQ up in Fayetteville but it officially canceled. However a LOT of folks are still rolling in. Heritage Indian Motorcycle NWA will be doing an event on the 26th. Also, Adam Sandoval will be down in Eureka Springs kicking it up (he’s a huge proponent of Indian Motorcycles). Worth checking out, just a few hundred miles NE of us here in Texas.
As the year comes to an end, we’ve got one more event staring at us. The 7th Annual Indian Motorcycle Get Together is in Hot Springs AR starting 30 SEP 2020. No doubt this will be a lower attendance event like all the rest this year, but they historically get 75 bikes or so, and last year, the Gregory 500+ occurred simultaneously. Guessing some riders that were new to it last year whom were on had to set the Guinness Record for most Indian Motorcycles in a Parade (651!!!) might return?
Year 2020. Guessing many of would like a redo. Not going to happen, so lets do it right in 2021!
